In one of the biggest (and last) games of my high school career I threw five interceptions. Five. Against our biggest rival. Fortunately I played in an era before Social Media, and I didn't have to see the public criticism of my play, even if I heard the whispers in the stands anyway. But more importantly, I didn't react the way I should have after my terrible game. I blamed everyone else and didn't take responsibility for my play. I was fortunate again because I didn't display my misguided frustrations on SM for everyone to see. Given the chance I believe I would have made the bad decision to use social media to vent. I would not have chosen to 'Take This Play Off' and put my phone down, give it some time, and gain some perspective. It's hard, but it's necessary so that we don't make that one big mistake on SM that can cost us so much.
