Overview

Social Media Education

Sometimes you need to think “I should TAKE THIS PLAY OFF."

My presentation helps people understand both WHAT TO DO and WHAT NOT TO DO on social media.

I am an experienced public speaker who has served as the official spokesman for a Division I athletics department for the past 17 years.  I have seen these dangers and dealt directly with Division I student-athletes regarding social media.  I am a former Division II college athlete (football) and the father of three middle school and elementary-aged daughters.  This topic hits home to me in a unique way.  In the past three years I have presented to over 50 high schools and middle school groups in Connecticut.

Goals

My goal is to reach out to high school/middle school students, student–athletes, coaches, parents, and administrators to educate them on the dangers of social media, and how they can use social media to their advantage.

Dangers

The dangers of social media to a high school and student-athlete are endless. Much of the problem can be traced to the fact that students don't think about everything that they post and it leads to poor decision making. I will focus on making good decisions and how to do that.

My Presentation

In the presentation we will focus on several areas. This will give the most complete and educational picture to the student, student-athletes, coaches and administrators. It’s a presentation of what to do, not just what not to do.
